Now it tells you how to withdraw EPF without UAN
It is managed by the Central Board of Trustees (CBT) which is consists of representatives from three parties such as the government, the employers, and the employees. And the EPFO (Employee’s Provident Fund Organization) helps this board in its activities.
EPFO works under the direct jurisdiction of the government and is administered by the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Under the scheme, any organization employing a minimum of 20 workers is liable to give EPF benefits to its workers.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), allows EPFO members to check, or withdraw their EPF balance using the Universal Account Number (UAN).
The UAN number can easily be fetched from the subscriber’s employer. However, there are many cases where the UAN is not available. For instance, the subscriber can’t get it from the employer, if the company has shut down.
Therefore, if subscribers have forgotten their UAN number, and if they do not have their UAN number, then subscribers can withdraw one’s EPF money without a UAN by using other methods.
Generally, EPF balance can be checked through various ways, such as – through the EPFO portal, through the UMANG app, and by giving a missed call to the particular numbers and via the SMS service. But, for these ways, the subscribers need to activate their UAN number that can be done via the official portal itself.
In also addition, if you have forgotten your UAN, then you can know your PF balance by giving a missed call on 011-229014016 from the registered mobile number under the portal. However, in this case, you will not need to provide the UAN number. But remember, you need to be registered on the UAN portal and have the KYC details seeded in your account.
Withdraw your PF money without UAN
If you don’t have the UAN number, then you can follow the old method and submit a physical application form with the regional provident fund office, and then you can withdraw your PF money.
Important Note: There will be no reduction in the value of the PF for lack of a UAN. Not having a UAN just makes the process of withdrawal more time-consuming.
For submission of the physical application, you need to download the Aadhaar-based new composite claim form or the non-Aadhaar composite claim form.
Aadhaar-Based New Composite Claim Form
In the case of the Aadhaar-based new composite claim form, you can fill it up and submit your PF withdrawal application directly to the regional PF office, it can be submitted without the attestation of an employer.
Non-Aadhaar Composite Claim Form
In the case of a non-Aadhaar composite claim form, you need to fill it up and get it attested either by any bank manager, a Gazetted Officer, or a Magistrate.
This is required by the PF office to avoid fraud and make sure that no one else on your behalf withdraws your money.
Thereafter, filling it up, then you need to submit the form to the respective jurisdictional EPFO office.
How much money can be withdrawn by an employee from PF?
